Woods Happened
On October 31, 2008, Friends of the Woods hosted a Ghost stories event at the University Woods. The Harlem River Ecology Center costume parade came through in addition to the Mount Hope Monitor.

We used this clean up to make the entrance ways more inviting. We painted welcome signs, drew flowers, painted stencils and planted flowers.

It's My Park Day 2008 went well. We used this time to survey community members, the parks staff and to plant a tree.
May 2008
It's My Park Day 2007 was a huge success. We painted the hand rails, placed woodchips around the boarder of the park and removed trash. We also received a visit from the forestry department and a group supporter from CB5. October 2007
Today at the park, Richard Love of the Natural Resources Group (NRG) came out to help us remove invasives and plant native bulbs. We planted 640 bulbs today--288 sedges, 96 yard rushes,64 white snake roots,128 whitewood asters,64 blue-stemmed goldenrods. Thanks NRG! September 2007
August's clean up focused on general trash removal and surveying how neighbors used the park.

July's clean up was all about beautifying the entrances of the Woods. We painted "welcome" signs, planted flowers and cleared trash from all of the entrances.

This was our groups first clean up at University Woods. We focused on clearing out the trash near the staircase with the most traffic in an attempt to increase park usage.
